SCOOTING

Best product solution: Calming Set

The "Scooting Dog"- always an embarrassment! No one likes to see their dog or cat scoot their bottom across the grass, floor or your favorite rug!  Most often this thought to be due to anal sac discomfort or a manifestation of perianal itch (often linked to food allergy).  Other possible causes of discomfort along the perianal area include a perianal tumor, skin irritation from diarrhea, or parasites.

Anal sacs are present in all dogs and cats and should empty regularly with normal bowel movements. If they don't, they fill up and can become impacted, infected (abscess) and possibly rupture.

Possible Causes:

  • Anal sac disease
  • Food allergy
  • Parasites
