Who are the Canine Skin Solutions Products designed for?
The two products lines (Recovery and Calm) were formulated by veterinary dermatologists for dogs with all types of skin problems. These dogs can have itchy, rashy, red, flaky or dry, greasy skin. However, each product line also continues ingredients that are nourishing and spa-like. The Essentials line is designed for routine bathing in dogs with normal skin.
Recovery Shampoo & Spray is a two-step system formulated to heal and clear infection, and to prevent bacterial & yeast infections from relapsing. It also helps to restore skin to a healthy-looking appearance.
Calm Shampoo & Spray is a two-step system formulated to remove the products of inflammation from the skin’s surface and decrease redness and inflammation. The products also nourish damaged skin and help to restore balance and health.
Are the Canine Skin Solutions products gentle?
Yes. Specially formulated for dogs with sensitive skin- the products are non-toxic, non-stinging and non-irritating. The shampoos and sprays are steroid-free, antibiotic-free and do not contain alcohol or tea tree oils. The products are safe and gentle enough for daily use.
Why do the Canine Skin Solutions Recovery, Calm and OdorPure skin care lines have two-steps?
A two-step system achieves the best results for your dog and you. Since it is often difficult to bathe your dog every day, the sprays were designed to complement and extend the benefits of the shampoo.
HOW TO USE THE CANINE SKIN SOLUTIONS SKIN CARE LINES
STEP 1: CLEANSE WITH A CANINE SKIN SOLUTIONS SHAMPOO
When active skin problems are present, bathe 2-3 times weekly until the skin condition resolves, then weekly to maintain skin health.
STEP 2: SOOTHE & REPAIR WITH A CANINE SKIN SOLUTIONS SPRAY
Apply leave-on spray after bathing and once daily in between baths until the skin condition resolves; then several times weekly to maintain skin health. The leave-on spray does not require rinsing and may be applied to wet or dry skin.
How many times a week should I bathe?
If your dog is experiencing a skin condition bathe with the appropriate Canine Skin Solutions Shampoo 2-3 times weekly & apply the appropriate Canine Skin Solutions Spray after bathing and once daily to affected areas until the condition resolves.
As the health of the skin improves you may decrease to weekly bathing and application of the spray after bathing to several times weekly. There is no limit to the length of time your dog can use these products and maintenance use can help to prevent skin problems from recurring.
Do I really need to leave the shampoos on for 5-10 min before rinsing?
Yes. To achieve the best results with each shampoo, the product needs 5-10 minutes of contact time to effectively remove debris, oils and bacteria present on the skin’s surface. In dogs with thicker hair coats, it will help to wet the hair and skin first, then apply shampoo and lather.
Do I need to rinse off any of the Canine Skin Solutions Sprays after application?
No. All of the Sprays are leave-on sprays (no rinse) that can be applied to a damp hair coat after bathing or to dry skin or hair. There are no messy, sticky or toxic substances left behind in the irritated area and problems have not been seen with pets who lick the skin after application.
What if my dog licks the skin after applying a Canine Skin Solutions Shampoo or Sprays?
All Canine Skin Solutions products are safe and non-toxic and no problems have been seen with dogs that lick the skin after application. Your dogs will not need to wear a "cone" (Elizabethan collar) after applying the products.
Avoid application to the head and face to prevent product from getting in the eyes or ears. Some dogs are frightened by the sound of a trigger spray; if this occurs simply apply the Spray to affected areas with a damp towel. If product gets in your pet's eyes, rinse immediately and thoroughly.
When will I see results in my dog’s skin?
In most cases you should begin to see improvement within 2 weeks. If you are not seeing improvement or the skin is worsening please seek advice from a veterinarian.
Once my dog’s skin looks good, do I need to keep using the products?
In many cases, the causes for recurrent skin problems in dogs are not curable (such as allergies) which means maintenance use of the products can help to control and prevent problems. If the Canine Skin Solutions products are working, stay on it. There is no limit to the length of time your dog can use these products. As the health of the skin improves you may decrease to less frequent applications.
Can I use other topical pet products while using the Canine Skin Solution Products?
The Product lines may wash away previously applied topical medications. In order for the Sprays to be most effective they should not be applied over other products (creams and ointments). Please consult with your veterinarian if your pet is receiving other topical prescription products.
Frequent bathing may wash away monthly-applied topical flea and tick preventatives. In these cases, please consult with your veterinarian to determine which flea and tick prevention program is best for your dog.
Can I use Canine Skin Solution products in puppies?
Yes. All Canine Skin Solutions products are non-irritating, non-toxic and safe in puppies as young as 6 weeks of age. It is a good idea when bathing or spraying dogs of any age to avoid the head and face to prevent product from getting in the eyes or ears.
Can the Canine Skin Solution Products work on deep bacterial skin infection (deep pyoderma)?
No. We suggest that you consult a veterinary dermatologist or veterinarian for severe or deep skin infections. Generally speaking, deep skin infections (often associated with large, deep, painful bumps filled with blood and pus) can linger and cause scarring. It’s important to seek veterinary treatment to manage this condition.
PURCHASING, RETURNS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE
Will I be informed when my order ships?
Yes. An email confirming receipt of your order, date of shipment & a USPS tracking number will be sent to your email address. Orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail and generally arrive within 3 days of shipping.
Is it possible to purchase products individually?
Yes. The three Canine Skin Solutions skin care lines (Recovery, Calm, OdorPure) are available as sets (16 oz. Shampoo, 16 oz. Spray) or available individually. The Essentials Shampoo is sold individually. With all orders you will receive a copy of your invoice.
How do I check the status or history of my orders?

With Canine Skin Solutions products, you enjoy a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not absolutely delighted with the products and how they help your dog’s skin look and feel, you are welcome to return the containers-- even if empty--within 30 days of receipt for a complete refund of your purchase price (less S&H), no questions asked.
How do I return my products?
To return your products, place the merchandise in a box with your original invoice and send it to us. If you don't have your original invoice or have additional questions, please contact our sales team at firstname.lastname@example.org. Once we receive the returned product, a complete refund of your purchase price (less S&H) will be issued within 3 business days. We will send you a confirming e-mail once the refund has been issued. Processing time may vary based on your credit card processor, and could be up to 1-2 billing cycles after the refund is issued from our website.
